ECOVILLAGE
Tom Hickman is the charismatic, innovative developer of EcoVillage Charlottesville. A thirty five year career building and developing in Charlottesville has given him the wherewithal to get this project off the ground. Over time, Tom has become increasingly passionate about designing neighborhoods to foster community and environmental sustainability. He is excited to continue pushing that edge with EcoVillage Charlottesville.

BACKGROUND
With over 40 development projects in Charlottesville, Tom’s roots in the community run deep. He is the builder and developer of four city neighborhoods; among his historical preservation projects are the South Street Bed & Breakfast, the C&O Train Station, and the King Family Lumber Warehouse. Tom values innovate design, quality construction, and repurposing reclaimed materials when he can. Beyond Charlottesville, Tom has spent years volunteering with the Building Goodness Foundation in Haiti, Guatemala, and Nicaragua. He is also an avid sailor and loves nothing more than screaming up to a mooring ball at full sail. In EcoVillage Charlottesville, Tom hopes to find the sense of community and closeness he and his siblings enjoyed growing up on numerous military bases.
